DIY Patio Revamp
Handyman reader Ross McNeilage had his work cut out for him when he decided to rejuvenate the front patio of his 1920s Californian-style bungalow.
Before repainting, he first needed to replace the wrought iron posts and fix the sagging ’60s verandah floor.
Ross propped up the verandah and installed 100mm cypress timber posts. He then rebuilt the floor using tongue and groove boards, concealing the nails for a professional finish.
After sanding, he completed the revival with three coats of decking oil.
